Break Seals, Not Vessels: HOLLOWAY AMERICA Seal Break Pliers

In our industry, running into a process connection that won’t come apart is commonplace. It’s an equally common response to grab a hammer and screwdriver to force the connection loose. After all, we want to be productive and make good use of time. The problem is, the hammer and screwdriver approach can cause thousands of dollars of damage to a pressure vessel (as you may have learned firsthand).

Tired of the frustration and the cost risks, our engineers decided the industry has been long overdue for a better solution. So we designed and fabricated the answer: HOLLOWAY AMERICA’s Seal Break Pliers (patent pending).

Innovation in Action

How do the Seal Break Pliers work? Quickly and easily. That’s the short answer. The detailed answer is also cut and dried: Engineered with a perfect grip, our new pliers let you quickly and safely separate any gasketed process connection on a pressure vessel, as seen in the video below.

HOLLOWAY’s custom-designed Seal Break Pliers work with the clamp-type, Tri-Clamp®-type, TC, and Sanitary Clamp (S-Clamp) fittings that professionals in the process industries regularly encounter. Our long-awaited solution is available as a full set, complete with a durable and convenient carrying case and five different sets of pliers: 1/2” – 3/4”, 1” – 1 1/2”, 2”, 3”, and 4”.

Prevention in Your Hands

HOLLOWAY engineers who attend conferences and trade shows such as INTERPHEX, ISPE supplier showcases, Process Expo, and other events have heard many concerns about process contamination, especially in the pharmaceutical, food, and beverage industries. Helping our customers prevent process contamination was a major focus when we designed the Seal Break Pliers.

We fabricate all HOLLOWAY pliers from Type 316-L stainless steel, eliminating the possibility of carbon steel contamination that can easily occur when attempting to separate a process connection with a hammer and carbon steel screwdriver. Even the slightest scratch from a carbon steel tool can leave stainless fittings and tanks susceptible to costly process contamination. That’s a needless risk we help our customers eradicate.

Protection from Vessel Damage

Our craftsmen and engineers consider pressure vessels and tank components to be works of art. We cringe at the thought of damage from a well-meaning worker who just wants to break a stubborn seal. The Seal Break Pliers provide the convenient answer that protects vessels from gouges and other damages sharp tools can inflict.

Our easy-to-use pliers will quickly separate bonded process connections so your team can get back to the job at hand.
